Meet
the Staff
Marci Mendola-Pitcher,
D.D.S.
Dr.
Pitcher, owner of the Rosen-Pitcher Dental Group
since January 2003, is a Pittsford native and
even attended St. Louis
Grammar School located
across the street from her office.
She
received her Bachelors Degree from
William Smith College and graduated
from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine,
thus fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a dentist.
Her Pediatric post-graduate
training was completed at
the Eastman Dental Center at the University
of Rochester. Today she is honored to be
a Diplomate
of The American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Fellow of
The American
Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Pitcher
and her husband Dan and two children Melanie
and Matthew live in Rochester and enjoy recreating in
the Finger Lakes. She takes pride in her work
caring for her patients as if they were her
own children. "Children should be treated with dignity and
compassion, and with the finest quality care they deserve!"
Gerald Rosen, D.D.S.
Founder
of the Rosen Dental Group for children, Dr. Rosen continues to work side
by side with Dr. Pitcher at the Rosen Pitcher Dental Group for children.
In addition he is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at U of
R’s Eastman Dental Center. He is a Diplomate
of
The American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Fellow of
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
and American Society of Dentistry for Children. He continues to publish
articles in dental journals as well as the Democrat and Chronicle. Dr.
Rosen graduated from New York University Dental School. He came to
Rochester over 35 years ago for his pediatric training; and with his
wife Maxine, raised three sons in Pittsford. "I practiced general
dentistry for my first five years in practice, but children have always
been first in my heart!"
Leanne Gorman,
D.D.S.
Dr. Gorman
is a graduate of the School of Dental Medicine at the State of New York
at Buffalo. At graduation she was awarded a certificate of merit from
The American Society of Dentistry for Children, for excellence in
pediatric dentistry during dental school. She received her pediatric
dental certificate from Harvard University where she was chief resident
at Children's Hospital of Boston. Raised in Ontario, Canada, she met her
Pittsford native husband when an undergraduate at Cornell University
where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Gorman
went on to pursue a Masters degree in Physiology and Biophysics at
Georgetown University. She is a member of
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the
American Dental Association. Dr. Gorman, her husband, children, and
golden retriever reside in Amherst; midway between here and Niagara
Falls where her husband is director of the Memorial Hospital Emergency
Department. Dr. Gorman loves to travel and is an avid New York Yankees
and Buffalo Bills fan. Having left private practice in Boston, she
welcomes the move to be closer to family.
Dr. Gorman's
caring nature and genuine concern for her patients echoes her history as
a kindergarten and first grade substitute teacher. She has a true love
for her work with children and comes to us with a strong academic
background.
Ann Hoerle
Ann
is our Office Manager and most senior staff member. Ann has been with us
for over 30 years! We all appreciate Ann. She
keeps us organized, on schedule and remembers EVERYTHING. As one of
eleven children, Ann is very relaxed around kids. "I enjoy talking to
and working with the parents and watching ‘our kids’ grow. You can’t get
old if you work around children!"
She was born in Minnesota and was raised in Seattle, Washington.
Ann lives in Fairport and has one son. Now that Ann
is officially an "empty-nester" she is enjoying her passion to travel.
Marci Brown
Marci
is the person you will meet when you arrive for your visit. As front
desk receptionist, Marci always has a smile and a nice word. Along with
her many other tasks, Marci always takes that extra time to reassure a
parent in the waiting room or help a child at our prize box area. She is
a Rochester native, growing up in Gates and graduating from Fairport
High School. With her fishing enthusiast husband, Marci raised two
daughters
and now have two handsome grandsons. "I love working around
children because they are honest and tell it like it is!"
Elaine Smith,
R.D.H.
A
life long Fairport native, Elaine earned her degree in Dental Hygiene in
1992. In college, she was president of the "Students of the American
Dental Hygienists Association," received the
Rochester Area Colleges Outstanding Adult Scholar Award, the Dental
Society of the State of New York Albert H. Stevenson Award, Dental
Hygiene Association of the State of New York President's Award for
Excellence in Professional Participation, Who’s Who Among Students in
American Junior Colleges, Outstanding Student Clinician Award, and was
elected to the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
Elaine has two grown children, a son Cory, and a daughter, Melissa.
Her interests include traveling, viewing nature & wildlife, gardening
and reading.

way puts her children patients at ease!
Sandi Franklin, R.D.H.
Prior
to joining the Rosen Pitcher Dental Group in May 2006, Sandi studied
dental assisting in Colorado and continued her studies at Monroe
Community College. There she graduated from the Dental Hygiene program
in 2001. After working in general and periodontal dental offices, Sandi
found a home in pediatrics. She agrees working with children far exceeds
any expectations by how rewarding it is to be a positive influence in a
child's oral hygiene for a lifetime. Raised in Livingston County where
she still lives, Sandi enjoys crafts, gardening, wildlife, cats and
spending time with her husband Jason.
Daphine Joslyn
A
dental assistant specializing in pediatric dentistry, Daphine has
an energetic, easy-going nature. With two young children of her
own, Daphine can relate well with our environment and is sensitive
to patients' needs. She works side by side with the Doctors to
help make your child's visit as comfortable as possible. One of
her passions out of the office is attending horseshows. Daphine
feels she is lucky to have a job working with her favorite company -
kids!
Donald Pitcher
Donald
is a graduate of the pre-dental program at Loyola College in Maryland
where he
also majored in biology and minored
in general business. Donald graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 2004. He is proud to work at the Rosen
Pitcher Dental Group and has shared in the joys of pediatric dentistry
for the past five years. His experiences working with the doctors have
given him valuable insights into the dental profession. Donald
demonstrates strong passions for learning, health, social justice, and
working with children. Donald will be attending SUNY School of Dental
Medicine in the fall. The areas of dentistry that interest him are pediatrics,
orthodontics, and dental surgery.
Melanie Grandin, R.D.H.
A
graduate from the department of Dental Hygiene at MCC, Melanie was given
the honor of being elected into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa National
Honor Society. She comes to us from a previous pediatric dental hygiene
job, with a sweet, caring demeanor and a relaxed and gentle approach
especially for our youngest of patients. In addition, Melanie brings
experience as a mother, of which she enjoys activities such as biking,
visiting parks and collecting Webkinz with her daughter. Melanie
believes in the importance of positive, early dental experiences to
create healthy habits as an adult.
